Jack White made news yesterday when doing a Q & A through his label, Third Man Records, website, he basically threw dirt on any hope of a White Stripes’ reunion and hinted at quitting playing live shows. He seemed sad. Maybe Deflategate is bumming him out too? Hard to say. He didn’t say anything about that. Could just be subtext.
I don’t trust Jack White. I respect him, but no, I don’t trust him. He’s too unpredictable and you never know what you’re going to get. I don’t like that when it comes to musicians and bands I like. For the most part I want to know what I’m getting and with White, that’s a rarity.
But there is a Good Jack White and reading about him yesterday, made me want to listen to Good Jack White. It gets hard though because you have to venture into the unpredictable, white water rapids of his discography to do so and that’s a mixed bag.
