It’s Tuesday. It’s the beginning of April and from where I sit, it’s raining outside and warm in a weird way; warm in a way that it feels like it should be colder. It’s not though; it’s like almost 70 degrees. I’ve barely seen snow this winter and I’m totally okay with it.
I kind of feel like a day like today, a day like this particular Tuesday, merits music specifically picked out for it. The tricky part is that what exactly that kind of music is is somewhat of a moving target. I wouldn’t say it should only be lively, upbeat music and I wouldn’t say it should solely be mopey, sad bastard music. I think the music should be like the day itself, a combination of things. It’s a day best accompanied by both melodic hip hop and driving roots rock, toe-tapping jazz and head-bobbing funk.
