Did you see Rogue One: A Star Wars Story? Yeah, you probably did. So when you did and it got to the ending, when…hold on…
Okay, cool.
So when the movie is almost over and the super important flash drive containing the plans for the Death Star have been beamed up to Princess Leia’s ship and everything looks dope for the Rebellion until hold on, Darth Vader comes in, straight up wrecking dudes, but don’t worry, the flash drive eventually makes it to the Princess and then the movie ends, you thought to yourself HOLY SHIT, THAT’S LIKE RIGHT BEFORE A NEW HOPE STARTS! Then on the drive home, as you were staring off and only thinking about the ending and how cool and bad ass Vader looked, you probably thought it’d be super duper awesome if somehow Rogue One just steamrolled right into A New Hope.
Well guess what?
The Internet has made all of your Star Wars-related dreams come true.
Well, most of them. I’m sure there are a lot of Star Wars-related dreams out there, some that might not totally be safe for children under the age of 18.
Thanks to this Barre Fong character, we now have a nine minute sequence that brings together the end of Rogue One and the beginning of A New Hope. And it’s not a bush league job either, which is pleasant surprise. Maybe if he’s not busy, he can edit down the first half of Rogue One, combine it with A New Hope and then just drop it as a really good three hour movie that I would totally watch tonight while my wife is watching Scandal.
Let this be a lesson to us all. Yes, the Internet is largely a vengeful succubus full of negativity and hot garbage, but every so often a delicious nugget of enjoyment shows up making it all worth it.
